How To Get a Casino Host & Make The Most of One - Casino ...
Make a shit-ton of money promoting online casinos
So, for those of you who are familiar with REALLY black hat affiliate marketing this wouldn't be a huge surprise, but still. Basically, i think i found the ultimate way to promote online casinos as an affiliate and make huge amounts of money with it, and basically this is by turning lots of people into temporary (or not so temporary) gambling addicts. Is this immoral? I'm a diagnosed sociopath and i couldn't care less, we're all adults and we're all responsible for our decisions. Is this illegal? No. Basically, let's first analyze what a gambling addict is and HOW HE THINKS: The key factor that distinguishes a gambling addict from an enthusiast is that the addict genuinely thinks he can beat the game, he thinks he knows what the next card coming out the deck is going to be, he thinks he knows that the next roll of the slot machine is going to be the one etc. So, how do you turn random people into gamblers? You PROVE THEM you found an actual method to actually beat the game, and you prove it in an incontestable way just so that nobody can prove you wrong. This is going to cost you some money btw, let's say 500 bucks, but you'll make a lot more in a day so... Basically, here's what you do: 1) You create a fake Baypal balance, just log into your Baypal account and select the values, right click, then "inspect". Now you can edit whatever you want and create a fake balance showing fake payments from whatever company you want (name of the casino, will explain later, but you have to put money in the casino, lose some, and then get it back on Baypal so that you know the exact name that will appear when you receive payments). This would only be illegal only if you were selling the method, but you're going to give it away for free (because it's not a method) so no worries. 2) Once you have the fake Baypal set up you record the screen and start talking, say stuff like "Hey everyone i'm recording this video to show you this INSANE method i just found to make money online, i wouldn't believe this because they told me it was a method to make a lot of money easily, but i tried it and wow, this is crazy. BLA BLA BLA. I'm a MATH graduate and i couldn't get a job anywhere, let alone a well paid job. BLA BLA BLA." 3) You then start talking about the money you made while moving your cursor ONTO the numbers so that people will see it's not a screenshot that you could've photoshopped because the page is interacting, because it's a real page, just edited. You basically just say stuff like “so you can see my balance now is 36k which is not all the money i made in this past month/month and a half, you can see i received these payments here, i was testing it first, made the first 221,64 bucks here, then 743,85 (remember not-so-perfect numbers have more impact), then i started doing this seriously and we got to 4k, 13k, and 28k today.” 4) You then keep talking for a bit about how crazy this is and it has changed your life, make sure the whole talk lasts about 3-4mins, then say “let’s not waste any time here, let me show you how this works”. And you stop recording. This will be the first part of the video just save it as it is, you’ll find out why later. 5) Open up whatever online casino you’re going to promote (will discuss on how to get your affiliate link later) on which you already loaded 50 euros or dollars, then start recording again, this will be the second part of the video, but people will not even notice the cut. Say “this method works in online casinos. Okay i know what you’re thinking, don’t worry this is not one of those black-red tricks that don’t work, they’re scams and we all know that, this is a new method and works, as you saw on my Baypal, but i will show it to you live. Please remind most online casinos are not functional for this method because they will find a way to block you after you keep winning all the time, check the description for the link to this one that i’m using which is the very best. so, let’s go to the roulette section and pick french roulette. this is our workplace, i guess everyone knows how roulette works, but here we’re not trying to get lucky, we’re following a precise sequence which is this one *show sequence image at this point* (which is basically Red Black Red Red Black Black in cycles) and i’ll put a link for this too. Here’s how it works:” So, you have to apply this cycle while placing your bets, this cycle actually kinda works, but it just makes your chances of winning slightly above 50%, it’s nothing special, but looks like it. What you do is you keep betting the colors of the cycle all the time, while explaining what you’re doing with confidence, betting 0,10€ at a time, saying this is exactly where you started from. If you win you place the minimum bet again, if you lose you double up, if you lose again you double up again, but you keep following the sequence as a cycle. Explain that this is the classic double-up, but it’s very different because YOU HAVE A PRECISE SEQUENCE THAT CAN’T BE REVERSE-FOLLOWED ALL THE TIME, and thus is 100% winning, all of this while proving it, while still suggesting the more you bet the more money you make. This might go very wrong and you’d end up wasting 50€, if that happens (took me 6 trys, 300€, to get the right one) record this part of the video from scratch and load 50 more euros, as i said this will cost you money. When you get the right shot and get to let’s say 51€, point out that you just made 1€ in a couple mins, starting from 0,10, which is A LOT, point that out clearly. 6) If step 4 went correctly now say “so, i think you’ve figured out how this works but let me prove you this works for real, i’ll set a stopwatch, do it for a while speeding up the video so that you see what i’m doing, and i’ll be right back” then proceed to activate a stopwatch, go back to the casino page for a couple seconds and CUT the video. 7) Now, in post-production, you’ll take the part where you explained the method and use that video while speeding it up very quickly. 8) Go back to the casino, try until you win one bet so that it will show (that’s really hard to edit), then edit your balance to around 56€. Start the stopwatch again from 0:00, and go back to the casino page. 9) When 5 mins or so have passed start recording FROM THE CASINO PAGE, go the the stopwatch, stop it, and say “so that was 5 mins”. Go back to the casino page and show you are now at 56€, say “we made 5 more euros, and that was 5 minutes, let’s calculate how much WE WOULD’VE MADE if i kept going for an hour.” Pull out whatever calculator you want and divide euros by minutes (in this case 5 divided by 5, could be different in your case depending on what you decide to do) in this case it will show 1€ a minute, multiply x60 and say “guys, 60€ an hour, i know people are getting jobs for like 7€ an hour or less, let’s see how much that’d be if i kept doing it for 8 hours, that’s 480€. In a few days that will be a month of salary, and that’s with 0,10 bets, can you imagine what that would be if we made 1€ bets? this is insane.” 10) Pull out a table you previously created, showing bets, expected earnings and SAFETY RATIOS (totally made up). Basically, 0,10 lost bets doubling up 9 times (which will look very very rare if step 4 went correctly) will require a 51,20€ balance for ABSOLUTE certainty, 25,20€ for VERY GOOD CERTAINTY and 6,40€ for GOOD CERTAINTY, create the rest of the board according to other bet options. Then on a side of the board show hourly and monthly potential earnings working 2 hours a day, so let’s say 60€ an hour as in hour example (point out that you usually go faster than what you did during the chronometer) and this will result in 3.600€ a month with 2 hours a day. Explain the table and talk about the great earnings you can achieve with just 0,10 bets or 0,20 bets with just 2 hours a day, and then talk about the earnings you can achieve with higher bets, that REQUIRE CERTAINTY. Say “How do you get certainty, with a higher balance, here’s what we have, for 0,10 bets 6,40€ is good certainty, 25,20 is very good certainty and 51,20 is absolute certainty”. Suggest people to do 1€ bets (that require 512€ for absolute certainty) because they will be able to make 36k a month with just 2 hours IF THEY DO THIS SLOWLY, one hour if they do it faster. Keep discussing the huge earnings they can achieve, and point out you achieved a lot more and that the table underestimates it, as they saw in your Baypal. do some small talk for a while, the whole videos should be 15-20mins long. 11) End the whole video by saying “guys, i’m not joking this is for real, you’ve seen my Baypal, you’ve seen me do this right in front of you, it works, you’ll see for yourself, i’ll put the WEBSITE LINK (avoid saying “go play now” or phrases that directly encourage gambling) and the FREE DOWNLOAD link for the sequence in the description, i changed my life and got my dream life and you can do this too, dreams are not dreams anymore, they’re goals that you can achieve, bye!” So, this is how you create the gambler-maker video that will turn random people into real gamblers. The cool thing is that the lowest “absolute certainty” balance is 51,20 but they can’t deposit 51,20 because they will be able to deposit 50, so if they comment the video saying they lost their money say the didn’t listen to you and needed 51,20. They will then refill their balance. Lots of people will do the same with the 512 balance. Delete upset comments if they don’t take any “advice” and place some “this changed my life” and “1000€ in 2 hours easiest money of my life” comments with fake profiles during the first week or two. Most online casinos will pay you a 20% commission on deposits when you’re first starting out as an affiliate and will go to even 300% CPA on deposits, meaning a 500 deposit will make you a 1.500€ commission, or something like that depending on the one you choose. The problem with them is that they will be very upset if they found out you’re promoting their casino this way (but will enjoy the money) so before you apply for their affiliate program here’s what you do: You go to Blu3host and purchase 2 domains and hosting for each, about 70 bucks for each (will last 1 year) call one something like “makethatdr3ammoneynow(DOT)c0m” and the other one “casinofunreviews(DOT)c0m”. Use Blu3host because it has integrated wordpress. Log into casinofunrevi3ws(DOT)c0m and log into wordpress, go to plugins and search for “pretty links” install that plugin (the logo is a start with blue lines behind it like a comet) what this plugin does is it CLOAKS your link, not for people, but for the casino, this is to make sure the casino thinks you’re promoting them in a legit way. Anyway, with the Prettylinks plugin you can create redirects like “casinofunr3views(DOT)c0m/casino” will immediately redirect to the casino with your affiliate link, you can figure this out very very easily when you have Prettylinks in front of you. Now, you still don’t have your affiliate link so you’ll only do this when you get it, here’s what you do. Click on “add post” and write a post about a game like “book of ra” making a fake review saying it looks good and it fun to play overall and rate it 7/10 or something and bla bla bla, add a picture of it and that’s it. Do this for a couple more games always WITHOUT ENCOURAGING GAMBLING, they have to look like posts aimed at sunday-gamblers who do it for fun. When you ask for your application as an affiliate they will ask you for an url, send them your perfectly legit friendly gambling blog (casinofunr3views(DOT)c0m) when they approve you and you get the link create the redirect like casinofunr3views(DOT)c0m/casino or something like that Now go to your other domain (makethatdr3ammoneynow(DOT)c0m) and basically only write one post writing “link to the website” (create hyperlink to your redirect link, NOT YOUR AFFILIATE LINK, so that the text “link to the website” sends to casinofunr3views(DOT)c0m/casino) and “link to the sequence” that you will upload somewhere for free download and create an hyperlink for that too. In the video description type “for the website link and download link click h3re: makethatdr3ammoneynow(DOT)c0m” and they will land on your website that just presents them the 2 hyperlinks and that’s it. Perfect. Then go back to casinofunr3views(DOT)c0m and create a new post and talk about the casino you’re an affiliate of, review it and say it looks very good, good design and all and very fun games, and create an hyperlink for it in the post, right on their name, like, if the casino’s name is “bananacasinogummybear” you write “so, i’ve recently played some games on bananacasinogummybear…. bla bla bla” and the hyperlink sends to “casinofunr3views(DOT)c0m/casino” AGAIN. The purpose of all this thing is that the casino will see where the new subscribers come from, if you put the redirect right on youtube they’d know you’re using youtube, and they would only have to google the link to find your video. If you do this like i explained to you they will see the traffic is coming from the super legit blog you showed them. THIS IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT. So, this was my very black hat and highly manipulative way to make lots of money quickly af (just create a fake fb profile, search gambler-games-related pages and add a few people and post a status saying “i will post a video showing you a crazy method to makes lots of money, ask your dearest friends to add me” and keep adding people too, just spam a bit, it will go kinda viral very quickly (because the method kinda looks like it really works, but it doesn’t, so people will be sharing your video even after trying for themselves) Make sure you make the youtube video “not listed” if you want to be really safe, because even thought this is legal it’s really immoral, and i suggest you to take it down after you made enough money to start a morally legit business, make sure the video doesn’t go super viral or you’ll be forever known in history as the scammer guy, trust me, you might end on tv sooner than you think, so make sure you take everything down if the views start getting out of hand, and my best advice is to take it down anyway after making 200k out of this, that’s enough money to start an insanely profitable online business very easily, a business that would make you 50k a month too, but morally. I don’t care about morality, but being tagged as a scammer won’t be good for you, so avoid that at all costs. Enjoy the money you’ll be making by tricking a casino into thinking you're just an amateur blogger who has fun playing games while in reality you're turning strangers into gambling addicts (even tho most people will quit after wasting a grand or so, sometimes less, a grand could be 3k commissions for you tho) and don’t start gambling yourself, the method doesn’t work, i can guarantee, just looks like it if you’re lucky enough to get it on video. it’s just like the dudeperfect videos or the yeahigotskills guy, those are not 1st try shots, but look like it. ONE LAST THING: make sure you crop the video so that it doesn’t show the url of the casino so that even the smart guys will have to click on your link, when they get there they will just be too lazy and join through your affiliate link anyway.

Fairview Senior Center- Beginning a new chapter of our lives, together.
Unfortunately, we all eventually come to the point in our lives when we need a little more help and full time care. If you’re a fall risk, for example, and need to be transitioned to life in a wheelchair at a place with full time caregivers. When that time comes, Sundown Estates Nursing Home is there. You can refer to their informational packet, with some excerpts below:
There will be two teams the Seniors (town) vs Staff (wolves)
The beloved seniors residing at Fairview Senior Center. Grandpas, abuelas, omas, and bubbes. They’re retired, their kids are long grown and now raising their own kids. They’re living out their golden years among their peers, participating in retirement activities, the most sacred of which is BINGO. Unfortunately, someone keeps stealing the BINGO prizes donated by the seniors’ families, and they are not happy about someone getting between them and their BINGO games. Every day they’ll vote to remove someone from Fairview Senior Center
The staff at the Fairview Senior Center. The staff are greedy and stealing BINGO prizes from the seniors. Every night, the staff will deem someone as a “fall risk” and have them shipped out to Sundown Estates Nursing Home for being such a troublemaker.
The Seniors win if they can eliminate all of the Staff
The Staff win when they outnumber the remaining Seniors
Each phase, we will reveal:
Who was the vote target, how many votes they received, and their affiliation
Who was sent to Sundown Estates Nursing Home and their affiliation
Roles
Each role may exist 0 or more times.

Game Room Manager
Absolutely loves BINGO and runs the show! How could anybody ever suspect them? They will show up as being on the side of the Seniors when investigated
Security Guard
Patrols around the senior center, doing “routine checks”. If he saw how rowdy the BINGO games got, he’d be sure to shut that down. Once per game, they will choose a player to visit and every visitor to that player gets sent off to Sundown Estates Nursing Home.
Volunteers
When it’s not your job on the line, it can be even more difficult to resist the temptation of lifting a few prizes. After all, there are so many! Who’s going to miss a couple? Although they have no special abilities, they work with the rest of the staff.
No matter who is banned from Fairview Senior Center, the staff will always have the ability to deem seniors as “fall risks”.

Discontinuation of the word “lynch” in HogwartsWerewolves Games
You may have seen the post “Hogwarts Werewolves and Social Justice” come up in the last week. If you haven’t read it already, we highly encourage you to read and discuss it with the rest of the community.
In short, as a mod team community, we believe that we should no longer use the term “lynch” in light-hearted fashion. As a Mafia-based community, many of our games revolve around phases often framed as “night kills” and “day lynches.” The word “lynch” has a long legacy of anti-Blackness and murder of Black people, Indigenous people, and members of other marginalized groups, and we feel that time is well overdue to examine what it means to continue using it as a descriptor of gameplay. While “lynch” is established Mafia terminology, it is also a word that is painful for many people to hear. We should not justify continuing to use it because it is still used commonly elsewhere. It is inappropriate and cruel to make a game out of generational trauma.
Again, we encourage the community to read the entirety of the post (linked above), as it provides further context for this decision, as well as discussion of alternative terms that can be used. We understand that this is a significant change in the way that we talk about our games, and mistakes will happen. We are not out to punish you if you forget to use an alternative word and we will apologize if we do. We are all working to be better people, but we’re all human and we need to be kind to each other while we all work towards removing lynch from our game vernacular.

First off we have the casino glitch. Keep earnings, never lose money. CASINO STEPS Step 1: goto casino. A penthouse is recommended but not needed. (You can spawn in penthouse to repeat glitch faster) and you can have vip membership to let you bet 50k chips. If you don’t have a penthouse then set location to last. Step 2: goto game of choice( preferably something you’re very good at) three card poker pays up to 150k. Play game and when you win( check top left corner) Back off of game. Open interaction menu. Goto style, change a outfit. After this go repeat the gambling. Step 3: for when you lose and don’t wanna lose that money. Be looking at top left and be very quick with next steps. When it says you lost. You have 3 options here. You can close the game app which is gonna be very slow to load in. You can pull lan cable from console. Or you can goto settings- network- press home button once- go back to Gta- when it’s time to leave just double tap home and you’ll be right back to internet screen. Disconnect from there (2 minute load back in to restart. PETERGRIFFIN AFK Step 1: download job. Xbox 1 and PS4 version found here in description of video and more info on the set up Gta Petergriffin Afk https://youtu.be/zeG4ZcwF1sk but I’ll also explain here. Step 2: launch the job (invite only to get full experience) and be sure to invite someone you know will stay but a random will work. Start the job and all you gotta do is just stand there. No need for rubber band cause map is modded not to kick you. Person on spinning wheel wins 2800$. Person on the bottom gets 1800$ then it switches. 1 person wins, 1 loses. My math says 4.3 million for full completion. (About 24 hours to do) Step 3 if you plan on running all night make sure to Charge controller, turn off ps4 and controller sleep timer Pros: very good cash for not doing anything, get paid every round, easy rp Method, anyone can do this. Cons: people are known to leave randomly. BONEYARD SURVIVAL GODMODE SPOT Lastly. A little more involved but good for rp cash and mostly earned money( shooting skill boost) job unlocks at rank 20 Step 1: host boneyard once inside make your way towards the back of the first building. You’ll see a gate. To the left of the gate you’ll see a wall, climb up on this wall, R1(take cover button) move past the sign and stay in cover. Step 2: kill some pissed off rednecks. They won’t shoot at you at all. Very quick and simple. If you move a little they’ll shoot you but only a couple seconds. If someone is hiding just move. Step 3 (optional) on helicopter rounds shoot the people off the sides and leave pilot alive. Kill everyone. Pick up all the cash and ammo so you don’t lose money. Kill pilot. Pros: very easy and mostly legit. 4K rp. About 33k cash. (More if you can get a full lobby) takes about 10-15 mins. Also you get rp for kills. Cons: may have to move to kill someone hiding. I hope this guide was helpful. It’s based around so anyone can do this. Comment usernames below so you can link up and do the jobs together
Casino Heist Guide, what you need to know and other features
AS OF NOW I WILL NO LONGER BE UPDATING THIS GUIDE I’ll start by going in order of missions and adding extras as needed by editing the TBA (to be added) as soon as I can review the information Leave any information you can in the comments fill in and I’ll add it in when I can ——The Scope Out—— Difficulty: Very Easy Time: About 10 minutes Description: the player must scope out as many points of interest if the can for the most options Miscellaneous: Vallet Security guard Purple keypad Inside (dome) camera Outside (box) camera Vault Blueprints (in mrs bakers office)(requires casino penthouse, or a friend with said penthouse) Access points: Ground (3) Main entrance (west) Waste disposal (north) Staff lobby (east) Roof terrace (4) 2 doors on the north side 2 doors on the east side Roof (2) North helipad South helipad Underground (2) Security tunnel (under dirt track) Sewer (the drainage ditch by the casino, there’s an entrance at the beginning of it, head down until you see some metal bars that would lead under the casino) -important notes- Once you have discovered every point of interest available in this setup, you won’t be able to do this setup for other heist because all poi’s are now permanently unlocked ——Vault contents —— Difficulty: Very Easy Time: about 5 minutes Description: You are trying to find your target, the valuables you’ll be stealing during the heist To start this setup, you hack a guards phone to get into the casino’s system and then enter the casino to walk around and find a strong enough signal for Lester to hack into the cameras BE SURE YOU FULLY ROTATE ALL 6 CAMERAS TO THE TO UNLOCK THE REST OF THE POI’S, if already unlocked all poi’s just skip to the vault camera. When scouting out the target it is completely random chance what you will be stealing from the casino Cash is the basic takes and take a while to grab, but it can still pay about 2.1million Normal and 2.4million Hard total (minus crew cuts) Paintings have better value and are the quickest to grab, to get them you must cut out the paintings but again this is really fast so you might be able to get a cheaper hacker or spend the extra time grabbing lock boxes, with this take you can make about ??million Normal and 2.7million Hard (minus crew cuts) Gold has great value, it takes time to grab just like cash but is also a lot heavier, this means you can no longer jump but the reward is worth it because it can pay about ??million Normal and 2.8million Hard (minus crew cuts) There’s also a glitch to get a lot more gold off one tray so abuse it before it gets patched Diamonds have the greatest value and have just been officially added to the loot pool, you grab trays of diamonds like you would cash or gold and they are worth about ??million Normal and ??million Hard (minus crew cuts) ———Crew members and Characters——— These are free mode missions and secrets that can affect the casino heist by giving access to new characters and crew There is also the standard crew for comparison ——Optional Characters—— Yung Ancestor Difficulty: Very Easy Time: 2 minutes Effect: adds another route to “The Big Con” Description: Head to the casino and go up to the roof terrace to enter a cutscene with the celebrity, afterwards Lester will contact him to ask if he would like to be involved with the job, a few minutes later you will get a call from Yung Ancestor saying he will help but needs a few favors to trust you Find the rest of this missions details at the “Setups” section ——Hackers—— Free mode mission Difficulty: Easy Time: 20-40 minutes Description: destroy all 50 signal jammers hidden across San Andreas for money and Avi’s services (guides available on YouTube) Vault time when undetected: TBA Vault time when detected: TBA Notes: This character is great but if you have Paige use her since she’s slightly cheaper, the difference in time is minuscule ——Drivers—— (Unknown: unlockable) TBA this character has not been found yet —Karim— Cut: 5% Skill: TBA Requirements: None Vehicle selection: Sentinel Classic (best choice) Weeni Issi Classic Asbo (worst choice) Kanjo Notes: This driver is the best to pick, they always leave the cars as close to the staff lobby as they can —TBA— Cut: TBA Skill: TBA Requirements: None Vehicle selection: TBA Notes: TBA —TBA— Cut: TBA (Big con) Sawed off shotgun (Big con) Combat MG MKII (Aggressive) Difficulty: Easy-Medium Time: Random Chance Requirements: “Rescue Patrick” Free mode mission Description: find a police van blaring it’s siren driving around Los Santos and Blaine county, when close enough a blue arrow will appear over the van and a blue dot will show up on your map indicating the vans location, by getting even closer Packie will ask you to help him and another person to “give us a hand?” The implication here is he wants you to steal the van and drive it the way to go about this is just to shoot the van enough and it will eventually stop, allowing you to steal it and bring it to Packie’s safe house at Vespucci beach, Notes: there is a 5 minute time limit that begins when you enter the van Packie has the best weapon selection in aggressive but this does not outweigh how much he cost this is player choice —Gustavo Mota— Cut: 9% Skill: Expert Requirements: None Weapon selection: Carbine rifle (Big Con) Assault shotgun (Big Con) Notes: TBA —Chester McCoy— Cut: 10% Skill: Expert Requirements: None Weapon selection: TBA SMG MKII (Big Con) Bullpup Rifle MKII (Big Con) Notes: not recommended because of cost ——Approaches—— It’s recommended to have 3 or 4 players for the best take —SILENT AND SNEAKY— Stealth difficulty: Hard Loud Difficulty: Medium-Hard Time: 15-20 minutes (minus restarts) Description: Silent and sneaky is one of the stealth approaches, you go inside with tactical gear, night vision, suppressed weapons, tasers, and an emp bomb (if the setup is complete) that the host can activate (explained below) This hiest allows you to slip in undetected and you can still slip out undetected. -Things to note- When you enter the vault you will have a certain amount of time depending on your hacker and whether or not you are detected by the time you arrive to the vault, if you fail to leave the vault before the timer hits “0” gas will fill the vault and the alarm will trigger Guards will be alerted to the following: seeing you, shooting a guard without a headshot (they yell), killing a guard next to another, a dead body, a bullet flying past them, a bullet hitting a wall, a guard watching you destroy a camera, and hearing unsuppressed gunfire The casino will raise the alarm for the following: a guard being alerted, a camera spotting you, a camera spotting a dead body destroying more then one camera, and not leaving the vault before the clock hits “0” Guards are oblivious to the following: getting a headshot or stealth melee even if the guard yells, destroyed cameras, the sound of broken glass, and the sight of broken glass You can disable cameras with the taser, but they will come back online, you can also shoot and destroy one camera but destroy any more and the alarm will sound If the host completed the EMP setup, they will have access to a phone app named “Detonate EMP” this will set off the EMP of course knocking out all electricity for about 1-2 minutes, this includes: cameras, locked doors, elevators, and lights (this will make guards have a really small cone of vision) -Important notes- Triggering the EMP does not raise the alarm (credit goes to u/Aleapp2556 for discovering this) Not breaking stealth until outside will give an award You can restart the heist at anytime by running out of lives -Best plan of attack- Enter the south helipad Exit the staff lobby High level buyer Decoy driver (optional, lowers how many stars you have) -Steps- Enter the cargobob Parachute to the casino Rappel down the elevator shaft (You are now in the staff lobby) Take out everyone quietly Proceed to elevator (You are now at vault security) Take out the remaining guards quietly Enter the mantrap Drill open the vault (You are now in the vault and the timer has started) Grab as much loot as possible, Dedicate one person to hacking Leave before the timer ends Exit the mantrap Take the elevator or stairs up (Alarm is now raised, but you are still undetected) Take out the remaining guards and exit through the staff lobby Get in the getaway car Race to Paleto Bay Escape the cops Finish the heist -Overall- the hiest is slow and very difficult so this may not be the best option for grinding —AGGRESSIVE— Difficulty: Medium Time: 8-11 minutes (minus restarts) Aggressive is loud and violent, you shoot your way to the vault, blow it open, melt open the gates and steal the loot -Things to note- This heist is extremely fast compared to the other two approaches, it can be and has been done in under 9 minutes with high level buyers there are no drills or hack in the vault itself, just explosives and thermal charges You can restart the heist at anytime by running out of lives -Best plan of attack- Enter sewer(you blow a hole right into the security-room just before the mantrap leading to the vault) Exit staff lobby High level buyers Gunner decoy (optional, but lowers your stars) -Steps- Blow into the vault security room from the sewers (You are now in the vault security room) Enter the man trap Blow open the vault (You are now in the vault) Set off a thermal before you start grabbing and try to just get everything you can Exit the vault Exit the mantrap Go to the staff lobby via elevator Exit staff lobby (At this point stealth no longer matters) Enter getaway cars Race to paleto bay Escape police Finish heist -Overall- this heist is fast and effective and I recommend cycling between both this and the big con —THE BIG CON— Stealth Difficulty: Easy or Medium-Hard (depends on route) Loud difficultly: Hard Time: 10-13 minutes (minus restarts) The Big Con is the another stealth approach, but it’s less stealth and more lies and deceit, you use disguises to get your way into the casino with all your tools and equipment needed for the job -Important things to note- You only have a ceramic pistol unless you pick up your stashed weapons, but if you pick up those weapons you can no longer pass through metal detectors Your weapons are not suppressed Gruppe sechs can get inside the vault no problem You unlock the ceramic pistol after you are done HOSTING The Big Con Not breaking disguise until outside will give an award You can restart the heist at anytime by running out of lives -Best plan of attack- Enter Gruppe sechs disguises Exit noose disguises Enter security tunnel Exit staff lobby High level buyer Gunner decoy (lowers stars, only helpful if you are actually caught) -steps- Enter the security tunnel as gruppe sechs Park the van Get into the elevator (You are now in the vault security room) Walk on by the guards Enter the man trap A lone guard lets you into the vault, you knock him out (You are now in the vault) Grab the loot, mind the hacking, one mess up and the alarm goes off Exit the vault exit the mantrap Take the stairs (Alarm is raised but no one knows where you are) Take the route to the laundry room Change outfits Exit staff lobby NOT MAIN ENTRANCE (At this point stealth no longer matters) Get to getaway vehicles Race to paleto bay Escape cops Finish heist -Overall- this heist is very clean and quick if you do it right, id recommend doing this and aggressive if you really want to grind it ——About undetected—— When you sneak into the vault undetected you gain bonus time to grab even more loot then you would if the alarm was raised, failure to leave the vault before the gas is released will raise the alarm; but you still received the bonus time to grab the loot anyhow, so it’s all up to you to either get the extra few lootables or make a clean getaway ——Hard Mode—— Hard mode (just like in normal heist) gives bigger cut with less lives, but this also buffs the security of the place The way you access hard mode is by playing through a heist (we’ll say aggressive) and then the next (the big con), after playing aggressive it will become locked and unplayable so you have to pick another approach like big con, after that heist is done aggressive will unlock but it will still be “too hot” this is hard mode and will give a bigger cut for a harder heist that’s why it’s best to cycle between both aggressive and big con ——Heist crew—— For the best take each time you need to select the perfect members for the job -Gunner- Cheapest gunner all the way avoid shotguns -Drivers- If you want more money chose the cheapest driver and pick the sentinel classic, but if you want the trade prices for all the new vehicles you’ll need to use them during a heist -Hacker- Now unlike the other two, an expensive hacker is necessary for this job, this person will provide you with more time in the vault, this is where Paige and Avi come in handy ——Setups—— Setups are needed to find the materials necessary to pull off this job, some are mandatory and you cannot start the job with out them, some are optional and can be avoided but also can be the difference between dealing with a few enemies or a few mini-juggernauts -Weapons- Need: Mandatory Difficulty: Easy Time: 5-8 minutes Description: The player needs to steal untraceable weapons for the job, a pistol, a main weapon, and a piece of equipment depending on the approach -Getaway vehicles- Need: Mandatory Difficulty: Easy Time: 3-8 minutes Description: The player needs to steal 2 vehicles that have just been imported into the US and bring them back to the arcade, if the cars are badly damaged you will have to pay a small fee to repair then on delivery Important notes The vehicles can be upgraded with Level 1: bulletproof tires 10k (recommended) Level 2: max brakes and transmission and level 1 upgrades 15k Level 3: turbo and max engine plus level 1&2 upgrades 25k -Hacking device- Need: Mandatory Difficulty: Easy Time: 5 minutes Description: the player(s) go to a location being investigated by the FIB, the player(s) need to kill the FIB agents Important notes You can be in a guards vision but not for too long Once you have the device and take the elevator down the guards will begin to shoot you -Vault key cards- Need: Mandatory Difficulty: Easy Time: 3-7 minutes Description: the player(s) need to go to 2 separate locations and knock out or kill two security guards on their time off to steal their key cards -Patrol routes- Need: Optional Usefulness for Sneaky and Silent: Needed Usefulness for Aggressive: not necessary Usefulness for The Big Con: Helpful Difficulty: Easy Time: 2-5 minutes Description: the player(s) need to go to a parking lot where security guards have gathered, the player(s) will be looking for a car with a certain license plate that Lester will send, Once the player(s) find the car, they will need to open the trunk, take a picture, and send it to Lester Important notes This mission can be done by stealth The car is always a black or light brown Falon GT convertible -Dugan shipments- Need: Optional Usefulness for all heist: Absolutely Required Difficulty: Medium Time: less then 10 minutes Description: The player(s) go around all of San Andreas to destroy 10 security shipments for the casino’s guards (this includes vans, boats, and helicopters) Effect: for every couple of shipment destroyed, the guards armor will become weaker No shipments destroy: every guard will have the health of a Cliffford Cyborg juggernaut 7 shipments destroyed: Health of a NOOSE squad member 10 shipments destroyed: Heath of a cop with body armor (3 Star wanted level officer) Important notes It is recommended to have 2 players in weaponized vehicles to destroy all the shipments -Security Intel- Need: Optional Usefulness for Sneaky and Silent: Needed Usefulness for Aggressive: not necessary Usefulness for The Big Con: Helpful Difficulty: N/A Time: N/A Description: The player needs to own a casino penthouse and do all casino missions for mrs baker Effect: allows players to know the locations and vision of all cameras in the casino Important notes Once this setup is completed once it will be completed permanently -Power drills- Need: optional Usefulness for all heist: Player’s choice but not necessary Difficulty: Easy Time: 5-8 minutes Description: the player must steal power drills from a construction site by stealing a van and delivering it to the arcade Effect: Gives the ability to drill open safety deposit boxes for a little bonus money (does not outweigh the main target in value) Important notes These missions can be completed by using non lethal tactics -Security key cards- Need: optional Usefulness for all heist: absolutely required Difficulty: Easy Time: 5-8 minutes Description: the player must steal a security key card from a casino staff member Effect Card Level 1: has the ability to give you access to few doors and access points, but nothing else in the higher security areas, those points will need to be hacked Effect Card Level 2: gives player full access to all casino doors and elevators other then those in the vault (A level 2 keycard is highly recommend and should be used in every single heist) ——Approach specific setups—— Some setups are specific to certain approaches and can be mandatory or optional —Silent and Sneaky Setups— -Vault Laser Drills- Need: Mandatory Difficulty: TBA Time: TBA Description: the player(s) need to steal 2 military grade laser drills to drill open the vault door -TBA- -TBA- -EMP- Need: optional Usefulness: helpful The player uses a cargo bob to carefully steal a EMP bomb and deliver it to the power station just across the road from the casino Effect: give the host the ability to call the EMP to detonate it, this will shut down all electronics and lights for 1-2minutes, this mean cameras, locked doors, and metal detectors will be shut off during this time, and since the lights are off the guards have limited visibility, about 1 foot of vision in front of them Important notes Triggering the EMP does not raise the alarm (credit goes to u/Aleapp2556 for discovering this) —Aggressive Setups— -Vault explosives- Need: Mandatory Difficulty: Easy-Medium Time: 8-18 minutes Description: the player(s) must travel to a part of the ocean to steal explosives from an underwater mining operation to blow open the vault door -Thermal Charges- Need: Mandatory Difficulty: Easy-Medium Time: 8-16 minutes Description: the player(s) must steal thermal charges to melt open the gates inside the vault -Reinforced armor- Need: Optional Usefulness: helpful Difficulty: Easy-Medium Time: TBA Description: The player(s) steals a few sets of experimental armor from a faction to use in the heist as an option of clothing Effect: unlocks the armor set to be used during the casino heist, the armor is like hiest heavy combat armor when used during the casino heist giving the players more Health but less Speed -Boaring machine- Need: Optional Usefulness: TBA Difficulty: Easy Time: TBA Description: The player steals a drilling machine from a driver hauling the machine Effect: TBA —The Big Con Setups— -Drills- -Disguises- -TBA- ——Phase 1 equipment—— On the phase 1 planning board you can buy equipment for finding points of interest or practice on mini-game type puzzle you need to complete while going to or when you reach the vault, you can buy equipment such as: a model of the casino for $130,000 (Which shows points of interest) A replica of the casinos security system for $425,000 (for practice with hacking) And a replica vault door for $900,000 (for practice with drilling) By taking photos of the security system and vault blueprints in the casino you unlock the option to buy the security system and vault door for practice Once the equipment is purchased, it will stay permanently in your arcades basement In order to practice you will need the vault drills (explosives do not count) and/or the hacking device These items will need to be sourced each time you start a new heist if you wish to practice My personal recommendation is to avoid this equipment as it’s price greatly outweighs its purpose, since everything can be learn relatively easy during the actual run ——Hacking—— Here’s a quick guide on the hacking during the casino heist First it should be noted that failing or aborting a hack while undetected will trigger the alarm There are two types of hacking Hack 1: Memory A 6x6 panel of dots will randomize in a pattern of 6 dots going left to right, the player’s job is to memorize this pattern and recreate it to pass the hack, they player may need to do this several times These hacks have been found really difficult and can be skipped entirely by having a level 2 keycard Hack 2: finger print The player is presented with a full image of a finger print and 8 fragmented images of a finger print, all the player must do is select 4 of the 8 fragments that match the full finger print and run the scan This isn’t as hard as the memory hack, but this can waste time, so be quick but be sure in your decision A tip for this is to go ahead and match the obvious ones and then study the smaller details of a fragment to try to find it on the full image ——Bugs, Exploits, and other Glitches—— PATCHED If the player leaves the session before finishing “Vault contents” the player can replay the setup for a chance at a better target such as paintings and gold instead of cash During the heist, a police maverick will spawn on the roof of a nearby police station, the players can grab it before it takes off, but once it’s gone from the helipad it won’t respawn during the same heist even after a quick restart PATCHED The player can duplicate the gold bar on a tray by leaving a single bar and leaving the tray, start collecting the tray again to spawn a new set of bars
Choo Choo! All aboard the railroad! Next Stop: Desert Of Disinterest!
Part 1 of this story garnered a pretty good reception overall, and in between all the usual comments mistakenly thinking I give a shit about their prequel opinions or telling me they stopped reading because I had the audacity to reference how the fans were divided over TLJ, there were a few comments asking me, like I teased, for the story of PP as a dungeon master. So there is a LOT to unpack when it comes to PP's dungeon mastering style. First off, he wasn't very good at it. He would talk about his games a LOT between sessions, inevitably spoiling upcoming events. One time when we were playing a Star Wars game our Wookie player said, after the first session, that one day we should go to Kashyyyk to aid in the liberation. Without any prompting PP tells the entire group in a public chat that he had 'planned that for a later session.' No spoiler tags, no thought given, just effortlessly smashed any hopes that it would be an exciting and climactic goal to gradually build to on the side. Another thing he did was plan. Excessively. In his notes he had broken down aforementioned Star Wars game into what he called 'episodes,' and he had this idea that we'd get through one a session. And while that sounds alright at first there were a host of reasons why it sucked in-game. First, it meant he was literally never satisfied at the end of a session. If we spent even a split second not following the critical path objectives like a string of setpieces in a not terribly exciting modern warfare game (insert one of 50 billion) he would lament how much time we wasted. If we sped through the objectives like a WOW player on the last day of his subscription he would complain about us not wasting time exploring more. Second, it meant he would constantly rush things to get to some conclusion every session. The first and last thirds of the game would always go by at breakneck pace as he desperately tried to hurry us along to the end point, which would inevitably result in an ending that we hadn't in any way earned. He was also, quite frankly, unoriginal as shit. Yeah, I know this is TTRPGs and cliche and monomyth are part and parcel of the fantasy fun of it all, but stop me if you've heard this one before: Adventurers have to race to find three identical magic objects locked far away from one another that all bear a resemblance to art pieces and use them to unlock the way to something vague and unspecific before the bad guys can find them and sell them to the highest biddeuse them themselves. Hauntingly reminiscent of that one animated Tintin movie as well as basically every adventuring story ever. All his other stories were the same: he would either not tell you the story at all, or it was something with so few original ideas that if you stuck pins in it all of AAA gaming would get twinges in its back. One time he literally had a shady guy in a bar pay us 5 million in credits to deliver a strange package to a space station without opening it, no questions asked. And expected the result to come as a shock. Surprise surprise, it was a bomb. Who possibly could have seen that coming? At that point though I had resigned myself to my fate and basically delivered the package and pretended to be surprised when his DMNPCs showed up to save the day. He also sucked, I mean sucked, at roleplay. Every character we met would basically give us a list of what they wanted done and that was it. No attempt was made to characterise them, no dialog, nothing. Well, you could talk to them if you wanted, but if you can imagine the ground and the average height of a sheet of blank printer paper, that's the level to which his creativeness in roleplaying these motherfuckers stretched. He always replied in one of three ways: a monosyllabic noise, a repeat of what they'd already said, or a description of the NPCs ignoring you and walking away. All of them felt the same and it wasn't helped by the way his complete inability to come up with names on the fly always resulted in them saying their names were 'not important' or giving us the name of the famous character he was ripping off at that moment (one time we met a tough-talking no-nonsense black-haired ISB investigator who went by the name 'Detective Diaz.' I could only facepalm). But his biggest flaw, the one I alluded to in the title and the one that has continued from his very first campaign to his last, is that he railroads like a motherfucker. It's the worst kind of railroad too, one where he keeps psychotic death-grip control of the story and yet, the plot never moves along at all. The thing is, he gets bored with combat or puzzle solving or any kind of gameplay whatsoever, and so 90% of the campaign is just moving from point A to point B, keeping the story chugging along but never evolving or expanding. Our characters never actually do anything since all we're doing is following the lines. We escape a pursuing Star Destroyer but they deploy TIES and threaten to kill us unless we come talk with the officer, so we do but they just want us to do a smuggling job. We go to the planet, pick up the cargo, and deliver it to the drop zone, suffering no threat or adversity or even slight challenge along the way. We go kill a crime lord because that's what another crime lord told us to do, but he's already been killed by something else when we get there so we just board his damaged ship, look at his corpse, and then go. We go to rob a casino which he doesn't tell us is run by the First Order, so we walk in, basically walk right up to the main base console, download all their credits and escape without being pursued by a single guard. We find a planet in distress because these weird satellite things are blocking out the sun, so we board the main satellite. Fight four stormtroopers, all of which die in one hit and mysteriously whiff all their attacks against us, blow up station with one thermal detonator, end of story. I cannot tell you how utterly devoid of stakes and adversity the game was, because he didn't have the patience to build anything up or introduce any major villains. And that brings me to my second point about his DMing. He is a horrible storywriter. In addition to treating the Big Book of Cliche like a free ideas bucket he never reveals anything about the current story to the players. At any point during the current Star Wars campaign I could stop, turn to the players and ask three questions that they would not for the life of them be able to answer: why are we here, how will it help us accomplish our major goals, and what are our major goals in the first place? He didn't have the patience to introduce actual villains for us to fight, so I'm genuinely unsure as to who we're supposed to be facing. And that cliche roundup I described a few paragraphs ago? That was literally the extent of what we have been told about the plot thus far. We literally trip over a secret moon base, its run by these totally-not-ewoks who find this random heavily-armed group of wanted criminals on their doorstep and decide that showing them every detail of their secret and incredibly high-stakes excavation based on some vague pretences of friendliness is just the tops. They show us these black orbs, explain that if we collect three of them then presumably something will happen, so we go to collect three of them. That is literally all we have been told. Did I mention the game has been going on for months now? Presumably you should have gotten to the part where you make your players give a shit before now. He's one of those DMs who asks for every scrap of information about our characters but never pays it off in any way. There's no character hooks to get us involved in the story: our only reason for doing the Tintin thing is on some vague pretences that whatever happens at the end will involve a load of money. No attempt at characterisation is ever worth it because everything always pans out the same way: the way he planned for it to. I'm playing a handsome smuggler, a charmer and smooth talker who had a tendency to flip out and go completely banana fuckbuckets mental with very little warning. He had a deathwish and a flair for the dramatic, so he would do things like threaten to shoot himself during a negotiation or arm a series of seismic charges in the cargo hold of his ship purely to inform his captive audience who was calling the shots. I wanted to play him as this complete wild card, integral to the party's success (none of the others were playing characters that could effectively communicate) but completely unpredictable and you were never sure what motivated his actions. Kind of a Riddick sort of deal: he'd do something nice and you might think he does actually care about you, but throughout it all there was this definite sense that he could blow the entire room to cinders and not give two shits about it. BUT none of this mattered anyway because every dialog went the same whether he was calmly negotiating over tea or standing on the table with a thermal detonator in one hand and a gun pointed at his own head in the other: the NPC told us what they wanted, we did it. Over and over and over again. One last thing before I go: anyone who suggests I 'just talk to him' about all this might as well save themselves the time. I have. I am, by nature, a very confrontational person and I have a bad habit of pointing out my every niggle with something even if it doesn't annoy me that much. He just doesn't get it. I don't even think he enjoys the game that much, but he just doesn't understand what's wrong and I can't get him to. It doesn't help that everyone else in the group is very non-confrontational and they don't enjoy getting involved in my lengthy criticisms. Anyway, that's my story about PP's troubles behind the screen. Not just a Problem Player as it turns out, but also a Disinteresting Dungeonmaster!
Choo Choo! All Aboard The Railroad! Next Stop: Desert Of Disinterest!
(This part two of the story also xposted from rpghorrorstories) Part 1 of this story garnered a pretty good reception overall, and a couple people asked for the follow-up about Problem Player as a DM. I live to please, so here it is. All his other stories were the same: he would either not tell you the story at all, or it was something with so few original ideas it was actually amazing. Going down the rabbit hole, 10+ years in the making.
Oh boy, this is going to be a very long one. I really need to externalize all this somehow so that maybe I can get some perspective and be able to move forward. Hopefully this is somehow interesting or insightful for other people. I am currently 31 yrs old, male, and live in Canada, but this story starts way back in Mexico when I was in high school. Growing up I had always been the odd one out in my generation. Very few friends, even fewer love interests, getting teased, etc. The usual for someone that was bullied but managed to get through somewhat fine with a couple of friends in tow. My family at the time was considering the idea to move to the US, and after a few family conversations about it we instead opted for Canada. Now, moving countries and starting a new life isn't a simple thing to do. It requires patience and a little bit of know-how. We lacked both. Applying as entrepreneurs using my dad's qualifications, who barely spoke English, was our first mistake. One that we wouldn't see the result of until way later. But while waiting, we were so sure it'd work out. Mind you, I must have been around 16 at the time. While the decisions hinged on my parents, I was a big influence in even attempting the process. So of course, my parents decided that there was no reason for me or my sister to go back to school since we'd be moving soon. Instead, a family friend in the US offered my sister and I to attend school abroad for a semester and stay at their home. So we traveled to the US with my dad, who would only be staying a week to make sure we were in good hands. I am glad he did this. The moment we arrived we were hit with insane rules and limitations about what channels and shows we were allowed to watch, what we were allowed to eat, so on and so forth. We even had to buy a bed for myself. As it was Halloween season, our hosts decided to take all the collected loot and put it in a drawer where we were to ask for permission to eat it. Mind you, this was an old friend of my dad's, and he was getting more and more angry about the situation as the days passed. My sister fit in without a hitch at school, acing the entrance exams and starting right away in middle school. For me, our dear hosts were hesitant that I would even be able to attend a normal school, and instead were pushing me to go to a language-assisted school. But I declined. I had been learning English since elementary school, and was positive it wouldn't be a problem. So, it took a couple of days, a language test and a somewhat easy entrance exam, and I made it in. But of course, being a late entry, I wasn't allowed a full course. Instead, I only had 3 classes: English, Math and Computer Sciences. On my first day, the latter was uneventful as the teacher had no idea what to do with me, since I had just been dumped on his class. In Math, they were doing a test, so I basically just sat in. English was fine, and I was hitting it off with a couple of people trying to make some friends. So, after that one day of school, I come back and have a big ol' talk with dad and my sis. This isn't what we had been expecting, our hosts were being extremely nitpicky and were charging my dad for everything we consumed or had, and it just felt like being exploited. The moment my dad left, we would have been hit with the full extent of the draconian ruleset of the house, possibly forced to go to church, be banned from things as innocuous as the sci-fi channel or The Simpsons, and my parents would receive an enormous bill. So, he said "to heck with it" and we decided to hop on a plane and go back home. This is how my 6 month hiatus from school began. What is a 16 year old boy without school gonna do with his time? Probably play videogames and hang out online. This is dial-up internet times, so it wasn't like browsing today. It was the times of MSN chat, MySpace and Kazaa. I amassed a library of music (I was actually decent at avoiding viruses), made friendships in different parts of the country, and even made a friend who actually lived a couple of blocks from me. Nice girl. We adopted an iguana together. But I digress. Another thing a 16 year old boy on the internet without supervision would do? Explore. I began talking with people on line in chat forums, and even had some online relationships with a few girls my age that are good friends to this day. However, there was one in particular that wasn't so good. This part I'm going to explain briefly and attempt to keep it SFW. This woman was older than me, showered me with attention and validation, and was extremely horny. Me, being insecure and naive, fell for it. During this time, we sold our house, and ended up living in my mom's childhood home alongside my aunt and her family, including my cousins. I was the eldest among the 4, with only 2 elder cousins on that side of the family that at the time lived abroad. Living there was ok, but as time went on it the tension built up among everyone. It wasn't a comfortable living situation, but the house was big and I generally kept to myself. The six months went by, and I started the new semester in a new school. It felt nice starting over. All the people I knew growing up already had a certain image of me, and it was hard for me to make friends with anyone there since I was odd and awkward, wasn't huge into getting drunk and not much into sports. These new people? Well, they weren't all that different from those before, but at least I could try to make new impressions. The group was small, since this was the last generation for that particular study program, and so it was a meager group of 20+ people, most of whom had flunked a semester or two or where delayed somehow like me. I ended up befriending a group of 3 girls that I hung out with. While I think they sought me after because I could help them with their schoolwork, I think by the end they actually considered me a friend. One of them at least. So, remember that older woman I mentioned before? This was around the time that exploded in my face. She, as it turns out, was married. And her husband didn't take kindly to me fooling around with his wife. So, my email and social media get hacked and end up with pictures of male genitalia posted all over with really demeaning messages. I... was distraught. When friends notified me about the hack, I freaked out. Later that day I managed to get control of my account back and ended up deleting it completely. I then made a new email and started a new Facebook page (it was around the time Facebook became a big thing). I felt betrayed, disgusted and violated. I don't think my parents, or any adult in my life, ever noticed what had happened. I don't know if they ignored it, or I just forgot / blocked it. Regardless, I stayed away from situations like that altogether and managed to move on. Skip ahead two years, and I'm graduating High School, top of the class, and with the highest scholarship possible for University, applicable to the one associated with that one High School. I should mention, for context, this was a private school. Public school in Mexico is can be very dicey, so my parents made a point to always have us in private schools. Guess I was lucky in that regard. So, ever since I was a kid, all I wanted to do with my life was create videogames in some way. So, when I learned this University had a 3D Animation program, I jumped right in. I still had to pay tuition, mind you, but at least it was lower thanks to the scholarship. Said scholarship also required me to work part-time at the school as an intern. I made a few good friends, had my first part-time job at Walmart, and did my best to absorb as much as I can from a program that was somehow constructed as an Engineering Degree, therefore filled with math alongside learning 3DsMax, Animation, Drawing and other art skills. It was a weird mix, but I figured it was all useful even if I sometimes felt like there was a lot of fluff. At this point, my family had moved out of my aunt's house and rented a small house that was pretty close to school. Pets had always been part of my family growing up, and at this time we had an amazing golden retriever. I only mention her briefly, because she passed very soon after we moved due to a kidney failure after being spayed. I adored that dog, and her loss really hurt me. She'd stay with me all night in my World of Warcraft all-nighters making me company. It really hurt my sister too, who had actually managed to not lose school like I did and was doing fine. Due to our age difference, we didn't get along that well, and having to share a room was a bit uncomfortable for both, but we made due. A few things happened during the next 2 and a half years. I had a couple of summer jobs, I met a girl I fell in love with through an old friend of mine, and my dad got his first heart attack and got laid off from his job. This latter broke him, as he kind of identified himself as the provider of the household. My mom worked as a teacher, but my dad was the main breadwinner. This was also around the time, if I remember correctly, that the Canadian Embassy rejected our application for the second time. After years of trying, and switching the application to use my mom's qualifications and having her nail an English exam thanks to some counselors they hired, this rejection hit my family hard. We stopped renting that house and used what money we had left to buy an apartment in a neighbourhood close to where we lived originally. They decided to put the apartment under my name for some reason. Me, being over 18 at the time, didn't have any objections. But tensions in the house were high. My mom was extremely hostile to my gf and would try all she could to prevent me from visiting her on the weekends. She also took up gambling at a local casino. My dad secluded himself in a small candy shop he opened in the neighbourhood. My sister, she grew up in this whole mess and bottled everything up. And me? I found refuge in my friends, my gf and school. This also put a lot of pressure into my relationship, and it eventually burst and we broke up, but that wouldn't happen for another 3 years. In those 3 years, I had to drop out of school due to my aunt's inability to keep supporting my tuition and my sister's school, alongside her own kids. My job at the time wasn't enough to pay it off, and I was already bottled up working part-time at the school as well, it wasn't feasible for me to take over the cost. So I dropped out. My gf, who was studying graphic design, encouraged me to enroll in public uni. They didn't have a program for what I wanted, so I picked the closest thing I could find...graphic design. I studied and took the entrance exam and managed to get in. Now, I didn't expect any parties about it...but it is a really tough exam... and it really didn't seem like anyone cared I had made it in. My gf was more amazed than anything, and my friends were happy for me, but my family was really pretty much absent. At this time, I even considered moving out and not go through any more proceedings when it came to attempting to move to Canada. I was done. Angry. Tired. I had felt betrayed and abandoned. Graphic Design school was ok. I had to take a bus every day to get there, and it wasn't the most safe route. By this time, things in the city were getting dicey. I had actually encountered a few life threatening scenarios, like people with guns and knives mugging my gf and I, a dude with a gun robbing a Domino's Pizza I worked at and three guys driving a shady public bus at night attempting to steal my car on my way back from my GF's house. During an argument with my mom, I stormed out of the house and actually dented a door of the car while getting out of the garage (it was in a really awkward position next to a support pillar). My relationship with my mom was at its worst, my dad was nonexistent and my sister was in her own world. I... failed to be there for her and it kills me to this day. So. Canada eventually said yes. We had been given permanent residency and had a year to land in. Problem was, by this point we had no money left to be able to afford the move. This, naturally, just got things at home worse and eventually led to my dad having a stroke. He was in the hospital for a while. This also put a strain in my relationship, and was one of the reasons we broke up. She took up a new boyfriend almost immediately, and this completely destroyed my heart. I stopped caring, and went dark. A few months later, I started dating a girl from school around the same time another girl I knew through a friend started flirting with me. I didn't care. I dated them both for a bit. But then, I caught myself in what I was doing, and really fell out of it. This wasn't what I wanted. I'm not this. So I broke it off with both of them, and decided to be on my own until I could figure things out. And right about then, my uncle comes to me with a brilliant plan. He says to me: "The apartment is under your name, correct?". I say "Yes. Why?". "I propose this..." he continued, "...I'll buy it from you, and that will give you enough for you and your family to move to Canada." I said yes almost immediately. I wanted a fresh start. I wanted out of that hellish situation I had been in for so long. My parents took some convincing, but eventually agreed it was a good idea. The biggest condition my uncle gave was that part of that money was to be used for me to finish my studies. Years later, he and my aunt divorced due to their own issues, but I will be forever grateful to him. We had traveled a year prior for the official "landing" that we had to go through together, but went back to Mexico after that because of the lack of funds. Now, we were ready to make the move. Over 7 years of haphazard decisions, tension and pain was paying off. My mom moved in first to find both a house and a job. My sister and me traveled a month later. I actually had a very touching goodbye party with all my different non-associated groups of friends all together in the roof of our building, and I still have tears when I think of how I felt back then. I will always treasure each and every one of them fondly. I even had mended my friendship with my now ex-gf, and after a few heart-to-hearts we actually found we had feelings for each other. So, we actually made plans for her to follow me after a few years had passed and I was established (you can save the eye-roll. Of course it didn't work out. But we were young. She's actually still in Mexico, being a successful graphic designer and in a relationship with a guy she always had a crush on. I'm quite happy for her, and we are good friends to this day. And no, I wouldn't get involved romantically with her again). Sorry for the tangent. But anyway, my dad was to follow us at the end of the year after he got his retirement paperwork settled. Except, a few months after my sis and I were settled, my mom drops the biggest bomb on us. "I don't want your father to come." she said, following with a -"I want you to support me on this." I was at a loss for words, but I didn't want to come in between them. I love both my parents, and I know they both have done what they could. I decided to remain neutral. I was not gonna take sides. Neither was my sister. Suffice to say, my parents are now separated and my dad stayed in Mexico. I got into a 2-year program for 3D-Modeling while my sister started high-school pretty much right away. I also got a part-time job at a Safeway to support my own expenses as well as the school's tuition, while my mom took care of the rest of the expenses between her own job and the money from the apartment in Mexico. My dad moved in with his brother by the end of that year. Our income was low, but we managed. I graduated from the program and landed a job in a studio doing motion capture. I had a girlfriend for a bit, but it didn't pan out. My sister graduated high-school and entered college for a degree in Biology. And I wish this was where the story ended happily. But sadly... it is not. During my time at this studio, that shall remain unamed, I grew confident. While I did a good job in saving up money, I also bought a lot of stuff. Figurines, games, clothes, movies, etc. With the help of my mom we bought a nice computer for me to work on stuff at home after my old one broke down. It was a decent year of providence where I started to build up some good credit history. Things were so good, I was confident I could move out on my own. And then, it hit. The double whammy. In the same week, my contract at the studio ends without previous warning and I get laid off unceremoniously, AND my mom gets diagnosed with breast cancer. So, back to the grinder. My mom had to take leave from work and I struggled to land another industry job quickly, so I ended up working at a coffee shop part-time. My sister had to quit school, which we could barely afford anyway, and took up a job at a Mexican restaurant. Between the two of us we tackled a whole year of minimum-wage work to try and survive until my mom wen through her treatment. During this time, I amassed a sizable amount of credit card debt buying food and paying bills. 6 months in, I lose the job at the coffee shop and manage to land a job at an EB Games I frequented. We barely made it through and my mom survived the cancer. My sister, under the huge amounts of pressure and frustration, decided to move away to another province with some friends she had made in order to get things in perspective for her. I was left with my mom. I should mention by this time we had been in Canada for a little over 3 years, had moved twice and were currently living in a two-bedroom apartment where I was essentially sleeping in the living room. I took over my sister's room after she left, but I was only holding off until my mom could take care of herself. I then moved out with a friend of mine and managed to get a job at another studio thanks to a friend that worked there. This studio was new, so it was up to us to bring it up to speed and deliver good stuff. I worked my butt off in every project earning below-average wage and tackling way more than what my job-description would specify, but I eventually became lead, got a couple of raises and became integral to the studio. It was like a small family working together. I managed to maintain my debt in check, but it was big enough to accumulate interest slowly and I didn't make enough to cover all expenses and pay it off. Studio work was unstable, as the per-hour rate normally covered 20-30 hours per week and only went 40+ on crunch periods. I got to work on some amazing stuff though. I started teaching at the school too, and was working at EB Games still during weekends and the off-shoot weekday. But EB was getting restless and questioning why I wasn't making them my priority, and eventually ended up quitting due to overload that led to me getting really sick one winter. Almost caught up with current events. Studio had a bit of a slow year. My sister came back and started living with my mom again, got her old job back at the restaurant, and I picked up a seasonal job there as well. This wasn't the first time she and I worked together (I got her her first job, in fact) and by now our relationship was a lot better, so it worked out great. This money I saved up to travel to Japan for two weeks, a trip I always wanted to take. My sister liked the idea and she saved up for it too. Figured we deserved it. It was an amazing trip accompanied by some of my friends. But of course, nothing can ever go smoothly. A little under two months prior to my trip, my roommate informs me he is moving out. I cannot afford rent on my own, so I scramble to look for a solution. The idea comes up for my sister and I to move in together, however the apartment I was at was not pet friendly, and by now my sister had a cat. So, we look together until we find a suitable place, ending up in the same building as my mom, and take it. I end up spending way more money that I wanted due to full rents and deposits, but I manage to secure the place, move all my stuff to my mom's, go to Japan with my sister, and then come back and move everything to the new place. I'm spent, so I start saving up again to try and recoup. My sister got a bit frustrated, finding out that what she saved up for the trip wasn't quite enough, so she begins to look for job opportunities and decided to take an online course on dog training. I supported her wholeheartedly, though my mom was skeptical. Regardless, sis and I move together and help each other out when we can. Studio work picks up again for a while and she's basically working full time, so while we don't make bank, we cover all the expenses and manage to do well for a bit. And then the studio broke me. At the end of 2018, it ran out of money in the middle of an in-house project we were doing in order to attract more contracts. The lead of the project disappears on us, leaving only one person and I to finish it within 3 months that accumulated unpaid hours. We were promised pay as soon as possible, but when they wanted to take on another in-house project right after, I noped out. I couldn't afford more unpaid hours. I took up a part-time job at the local movie theater to try to supplement income until the studio picked up again. It wasn't that rare to go a month or two without work every now and then. The nature of the beast I guess. But this time it was different. November 2018 that project ended. I didn't get paid for it for almost a year, and in 2019 we only got a small indie game to work on. Studio was pretty much dead, and all the deals and promises just never came. My debt accumulated rapidly during this time, and I was earning so little that I actually started to miss payments and borrowed money from friends. I managed to do a couple of freelance commissions, but it wasn't enough. I used up all my Employment Insurance and tried to get as many hours on the theater as I could. Eventually that theater closed down and I was transferred to the one I am at currently, which is now also closing down in May. And to cap things off, my dad in Mexico is going through prostate cancer and I have no feasible way of either going to see him or helping him in any way. So folks, you've made it to the end of the story and caught up with my current situation. I have 3 jobs: a part-time job at a movie theater that barely gives me hours and is due to close in two months, a part-time teaching position at a university that, while helpful, is pretty much a gamble every quarter if I get a group or not, and a supposedly full-time job at a studio that pays late, has no projects and makes tons of promises for the future, yet doesn't want to have payroll and instead have me as an independent contractor. I am at a loss. I've exhausted my options looking for work, and am now forced to try and find a full-time minimum-wage job to make ends meet just so I can then try and look for industry jobs. I have a massive debt that I cannot bring down, owe a lot of money in taxes from last year that I cannot possibly pay, and every month is a struggle to even make rent, let alone utilities and food. I am on the verge of bankruptcy and have no idea where to go from here. All I can do is survive until I can muster some miraculous demo reel in things that are not motion capture related in order to try and land a job somewhere else. I feel trapped, hopeless, exhausted and on the verge of anxiety attacks every time I have to think about it. This is where my life has gone. The culmination of my own decisions. A hole that I cannot get out of. Thank you for reading this long story about a guy that clearly doesn't know what he's doing. A guy consumed by guilt and depression that struggles to get up every morning to a hellhole of his own making. This was therapeutic to write, and I hope those of you that made it to the end, got some enjoyment out of it at least. Let something good come out of it. EDIT: minor grammar and spelling corrections.
